What We Offer
At the heart of F.E.I.S. Foundation lies a profound concept and a resolute mission. Our programs are not just about providing housing and services; they embody a vision of compassionate transformation. We believe in the power of shared housing to create not just shelter but a supportive community where individuals can heal and thrive. Our mission is to extend a helping hand to those facing homelessness, offering them not just a place to stay, but a path to recovery, self-sufficiency, and a brighter future. We're not just addressing a societal issue; we're fostering a profound shift in lives, from despair to hope, from isolation to community, and from instability to enduring security. Our concept is one of holistic care, where individuals are not defined by their struggles, but by their potential for transformation.
Shared Housing
At the F.E.I.S. Foundation, our shared housing program is a cornerstone of our commitment to currently serving the underserved women in Yakima County, Washington. We recognize that housing insecurity is often the first domino in a chain of challenges that can lead to homelessness. Our primary mission is to intervene before that happens by providing affordable transitional housing in beautifully renovated homes located in welcoming middle-class neighborhoods.
Our shared housing initiative extends far beyond the provision of shelter. We believe in offering a holistic and comprehensive approach to recovery. When new residents arrive, they don't just find beds awaiting them; they are welcomed with starter kits that include essentials to help them settle comfortably and with dignity into their new homes. Our program allows residents to stay for up to two years, with extensions considered on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that they have ample time to rebuild their lives.
Our homes are meticulously designed to meet the stringent standards set by the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR). This compliance ensures that our residents benefit from a structured and supportive environment conducive to their recovery journey. Additionally, we wholeheartedly embrace medication-assisted treatment (MAT), recognizing that it is a crucial component of holistic care for those battling substance use disorder.
Emotional Support
We recognize that the emotional well-being of our residents is just as vital as their physical shelter. Our shared housing program is not just about providing safe and secure accommodations; it's about creating a loving and compassionate community environment where individuals can find solace and strength.
We encourage every program participant to take pride in where they live, through implementation of our Good Neighbor Policy and to embrace ownership of their recovery journey. In our community, residents come together to support one another, fostering a profound sense of belonging and camaraderie. We understand that the emotional path to recovery can be arduous, and we are committed to providing the unwavering emotional support and understanding that our residents need.
Together, we build a community where people work hand in hand to help each other on the path to recovery, healing, and a brighter future, fostering an environment where the bonds of support are as strong as the walls that protect them.
Supportive Services
Beyond addressing housing insecurity, we understand that individuals on the path to recovery often require a diverse range of support to stabilize their lives. At the F.E.I.S. Foundation, we have forged collaborative partnerships with a network of agencies and organizations that specialize in an array of services tailored to the unique needs of our target demographic.
Our commitment to providing supportive services is rooted in the belief that recovery is a multifaceted journey and that no two paths are the same. Whether it's counseling, job training, legal assistance, or access to mental health resources, we ensure that our residents have access to the specific support they need.
We empower individuals with the tools and resources required for success on their path to recovery and self-sufficiency, recognizing that holistic support is the key to long-lasting change.
