I'm 41 years old and from Washington State. I'm a recovering alcoholic, addict. Before entering treatment in December of 2023, I was living in a vicious cycle of self will, no matter which way I turned I could never get one foot in front of the other, the drugs and alcohol controlled my life. I knew my family wanted better for me. My brother had gotten clean about a year before I did and he gave me some numbers to call and said, "whenever you're ready, I know some really strong women that have a lot of clean time".  December 5, 2023, I made the choice to end the struggle and picked up the phone and called for help.  With the help of my higher power and the 12 step program I have found a better way to live, clean.  I have a progressive disease known as addiction that does not go away, I take things one day at a time and sometimes one moment at a time. The FEIS house has given me the opportunity and the freedom to live a life I never thought was possible. I no longer have to face difficulties alone, I have the support of others when difficulties arise and I know that I am safe. I am forever grateful to be given this opportunity. GOD BLESS.
